INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATIONS

COLLABORATION WITH EDINBOROUGH UNIVERSITY INITIATED
As a part of Internationalizing Higher Education Programme of the British Council, the KVASU and Royal (Dick), School of Veterinary Studies, Edinburgh, had jointly submitted a project under the “Knowledge Economy Partnership - 2011” for the sustainable academic partnership between the two institutions. It envisages the conduct of 3 workshops:
1. Animal Welfare Science
2. Indian Ruminant Livestock Health Management
3. Innovative methods for introducing the development of clinical skills,
4. Final Conference.

     


ORGANIZED THE FIRST INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON ‘ANIMAL WELFARE SCIENCES’ IN COLLABORATION WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF EDINBURGH AND BRITISH COUNCIL, INDIA AT CVAS, MANNUTHY
International collaborative Workshop on Animal Welfare Sciences was held at CVAS of Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Mannuthy campus from 28th May 2012- 1st June 2012. Major objectives of the programme was to develop and embed a problem based learning approach This five day workshop was jointly organized by Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University and The University of Edinburgh as part of the project on Knowledge, Economy, Partnership of 2011 of British Council, India. 15 faculty members from KVASU participated in the workshop. Department of Veterinary Public Health of CVAS, Mannuthy facilitated the programme.

COLLABORATIVE EFFORTS WITH NIC
Video conferencing with NIC DDG, New Delhi to implement MIS for livestock production. Submitted a project approved by the working committee to NIC. Regularly submitting the weather forecasting report for NIC Govt of India. Associated with national Informatics Centre in the implementation of NADRS (National Animal Disease Reporting System) and its soft ware to make it more user friendly in nature

TALK ON SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE ISSUES AND CHALLENGES BY P. SAINATH
Food security should be achieved only through Food justice', Says Sri. P. Sainath, Rural Affairs Editor of The Hindu Daily while delivering a talk on Sustainable Agriculture-Issues and Challenges in the Seminar Hall of College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences of Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Mannuthy Campus on 22nd February 2012. It was organised by the Students Union of CVAS, Mannuthy with the help of Directorate of Entrepreneurship of KVASU.

ORGANIZED THE WORKSHOP ON "CURRENT CONCEPTS IN THE TREATMENT AND CONTROL OF PARASITIC DISEASES JOINTLY WITH KERALA STATE VETERINARY COUNCIL (KSVC)
One day workshop jointly organized by the KVASU and KSVC on "Current Concepts in the Treatment and Control of Parasitic diseases was held at KSVC, Trivandrum on 28th April 2012. It was jointly organized by Kerala State Veterinary Council and Directorate of Entrepreneurship of KVASU.

ORGANISED THE VISIT OF THE SECRETARY ANIMAL HUSBANDRY, DAIRYING AND FISHERIES, GOVERNMENT OF INDIA SRI. RUDRA GANGADHARAN IAS.
The Directorate of Entrepreneurship organised the visit of the Secretary Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries, Government of India Sri. Rudra Gangadharan IAS Secretary visited the Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Mannuthy Campus on 14th June 2012 and addressed the officers and faculty members of KVASU. In his address to the faculty and students, Secretary explained in detail about the challenges and priorities of livestock sector research and extension in the country. The secretary visited the Vechur farm , Clinical veterinary complex and the pig farm of the university.
