Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University(kvasu) started at Pookode, Wayanadu dist w.e.f 14-Oct-2010. The university w.e.f. 15-07-2013 has launched a post Graduate Certificate programme in Farm Journalism thru technology enabled distance education module.

In this era of 'globalisation' farm media plays a key role in knowledge dissemination among farmers, enterpreneurs and other stake holders. This course helps graduates of veterinary science, food technology, agariculture, dairy development, horticulture, home science, and other biology graduated to communicate fluently about farm journalism better and more informative way. It facilitate the above graduates to disseminate through different farm media to address food security and food safety issues affecsting agriculture and allied sectors.
