Major thrust area of research in this department is the study of animal diseases affecting various body systems like digestive, cardiovascular, nervous and integument. Studies are also undertaken in the field of metabolic diseases in farm animals and ethno veterinary medicine.

The department has completed 19 KAU, one Animal Husbandry and one ICAR research projects. Ongoing projects are:

• ICAR Net work project on Etnoveterinary Medicine
• Animal Husbandry Project “Model Veterinary Emergency and critical care unit for field adoption’.
