Technology Business Incubation Centre, Mannuthy
The Technology Business Incubation Centre of KVASU has been incepted with following objectives
- To support entrepreneurship in the animal husbandry sector through skill development and core capacity building programmes.
- To support student entrepreneurship programmes through facilitation, institutional collaboration, product development, brand support and facilitation for funding.
- To facilitate the protection, transfer skills, knowledge and innovations of the university created discoveries into new products and services
- To accelerate the successful development of entrepreneurial start-ups/companies through an array of business support resources and services
- To enhance relationship with industry and other stakeholders by identifying a range of models for collaboration with the university.
- To provide a base for businesses to set up and grow leveraging on the expertise of KVASU.
Business incubators are specially designed programs to help young start-ups innovate and grow. Our incubator is having
Physical Infrastructure:
- A work space, an independent and segregated area which forms the incubation labs
- Basic communication facilities, such as telephone, internet
- Computing facilities, such as desktop and a printer.
Basic Vital equipment needed in specific target area of operation for the project (case by case) such as freezers, oven, poultry shed area, packaging facilities
What innovators can look for in our incubator
- Limited workspaces
- Mentorship- consultancies, access to lab facilities(on payment basis)
- education on product development, entrepreneurship building and skill
- Net working with like minded groups
- access to lab for quality assessment and supporting startups
- These resources will allow ideas to take shape while operating at a lower cost during the early stages of business incubation thus helping the individual from unnecessary early investment
TBIC will have student incubates, individuals, collaborative proposals from Government and semi Govt institutions and Corporate who are stake holders to incubate their ideas/proposals.
- TBIC will facilitate students with – support for pitching of the innovative projects, mentoring them to participate in Hackathones for funding support, providing space in exhibitions for their product, space for doing the project, mentoring facilitation for product development, suggesting mentor groups, promoting innovation programmes by providing design thinking workshops, IEDC membership, Quality evaluation of the product.
- For individuals with innovative projects, the TBIC will facilitate project proposal appraisal by the committee, mentorship on feasible projects, consultancies, developing expert mentor groups to support entrepreneurship at different levels, networking facilitation, quality evaluation
- For institutions and corporates, TBIC will support the research facilitation, Prototype development & evaluation with appropriate mentoring committee and will seek support for their market on case to case basis
- Individuals need to apply for incubation of their idea in the university with their proposal indicating idea, novelty, how they are planning to convert it into business and their expectations from university. The proposals will be scrutinised by the appropriate committee and evaluate the feasibility of proposal for incubation.
For students:
The evaluation will be based on the innovativeness, competitiveness, social needs, business model proposed, sustainability and faculty competency for mentorship.

The business proposal will be evaluated and if feasible to do under TBIC, a mentor committee will be formed as approved mutually by the incubate and core committee on case to case basis. The student/ student group will have to make agreement that they will do the project and complete in the stipulated time under the mentorship of mentoring committee or other resource persons suggested by the mentoring committee. It is better the group should have members from different years of academics so that the work can be continued. The agreement period can be extended on mutual revised terms as approved by the core committee.

Once the students are registered they will get opportunity to attend the entrepreneurial trainings and other exposure required during their journey of innovation, incubation and further to their venture.
