The Directorate of Clinics (DC) is one of the directorates of KVASU and established along with the University in 2011. The directorate has since been actively engaged in constant improvement of clinical facilities of the University. The clinical facilities of the University have improved by leaps and bounds since the inception of the University. In fact it is a matter of pride that the clinical wings of the University are counted as one of the best in the country, offering specialized service to the livestock owners and pet owners of the state and to districts adjoining the state.
Mission and Mandate
Directorate of Clinics performs overall management of the Teaching Veterinary Clinical Complex, Veterinary Hospitals, Peripheral Hospitals, Dispensaries and attached diagnostics units of the University. The Directorate oversees the planning and supervision of research in clinical subjects in all campuses of the University. For extending the clinical research findings of the University and to provide expert guidance the Directorate is also responsible for identification of field problems related to management of sick animals in different areas of Kerala and to design and implement an integrated approach for solving the clinical problems. The DC has technical control of Teaching Veterinary Clinical Complex and Veterinary Hospitals of the University and act as a backbone for the modernization and strengthening of the facilities for treatment of animals to support teaching and training at different levels and also to co-ordinate clinical research efforts in various campuses of the University. The Director of Clinics also serves as the ex-officio Chairman of all the Hospital Management committees of the University

1) Post Graduate Diploma Progammes:
2) Training: Various need based trainings have been conducted under the aegis of the Directorate of clinics. These trainings are designed to be either custom made to the needs of the participant or are offered for the participants to gain experience in specific areas of specialization.
3) Seminars: The directorate has conducted a webinar on 9th October 2020 on Lumpy skin disease - control and prevention, in association with Alembic Pharmaceuticals Ltd. The webinar was led by Dr. Rathish R. L., Asst. Professor, Dept. of Veteirnary Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine, CVAS, Pookode.
Achievements
Instrumental in starting Karshakamithra medical stores at UVH Mannuthy, UVH Kokkalai and TVCC, Pookode. The pharmacy service provides medicines and medical consumables for livestock and pet owners at subsidized rates within the hospital premises, thus saving time and revenue for the livestock owners. At the same time, the affordability of medicine increases the efficiency of the clinical service provided.
