Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University formed as a University with State – wide jurisdiction and its institutional architecture cantered mainly around the Districts of Wayanad, Palakkad, Thrissur, Idukki, and Thiruvananthapuram focuses on Veterinary and Animal sciences. The academic units are supplemented by full- fledged instructional farm units comprising of cattle farms, pig farms, poultry farms, sheep and goat units, full- fledged teaching animal health facilities with all infrastructure and the off campus clinical facility, including, in – patients and out-patient care .The primary features of Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University has shown its rapid growth from just about two institutions to a multitude of academic units ranging from full-fledged faculty to research centre covering a far wider gamut of academic activity. This growth has essentially resulted in a tenfold multiplication of the academic programme menu and not merely growth in the shell structure .The University is fortunate to have outstanding staff, students and facilities. Our challenge for the future is to build on this strong base to establish ourselves firmly and continue our commitment to our motto ‘ideas in action‘.
