The VEARA Students' Union 2025-26 successfully organized Ethnic Day 2026 along with the inauguration of the Dance and Music Clubs on 29th July 2026 at 2:30 PM in the VKIDFT Auditorium. The programme was conducted with the objective of celebrating India's rich cultural heritage while providing a vibrant platform for students to showcase their artistic talents.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by Mr. Vishnu Mohanan, Vice President, VEARA Students' Union. The event was formally inaugurated by Dr. A. K. Beena, Dean, VKIDFT, who officially inaugurated the Dance and Music Clubs. In her inaugural address, she emphasized the importance of extracurricular activities in nurturing creativity, confidence, and teamwork among students, encouraging everyone to actively participate in the newly formed clubs.
As part of the inauguration, the official names and promotional videos of the Dance and Music Clubs were unveiled, marking the beginning of a new chapter in promoting arts and cultural activities at VKIDFT. The programme was further enriched by felicitations delivered by Dr. Abhinash P., Assistant Professor, VKIDFT, Ms. Aswathy Gopal G. A., Administrative Officer, and Ms. Devikrishna B., President, SFI Unit, VKIDFT, who appreciated the efforts of the Students' Union in organizing such a meaningful event. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Annapoorna A., Joint Secretary, VEARA Students' Union.


One of the major highlights of the celebration was the Ethnic Walk Competition, where students proudly represented the diverse traditions and cultures of India through their elegant ethnic attire. The participants displayed remarkable confidence and creativity, making the event visually captivating. The titles of Mr. Ethnic and Ms. Ethnic were awarded to the most outstanding participants for their impressive presentation.
The Song Recreation Competition added another exciting dimension to the celebrations. Students recreated popular songs with exceptional enthusiasm, creativity, and stage presence. The competition witnessed outstanding performances from different batches, with prizes awarded to the best teams in recognition of their talent and dedication.
The celebration was further elevated by a series of mesmerizing performances presented by the newly inaugurated Dance and Music Clubs. The energetic dance performances and soulful musical renditions captivated the audience, highlighting the immense artistic potential of VKIDFT students and setting an inspiring beginning for the clubs.






A remarkable feature of the programme was the active participation and wholehearted support of the faculty and staff members. Their enthusiastic involvement, encouragement, and presence added warmth and vibrancy to the celebration, strengthening the bond between students and teachers.
The event concluded on a joyful and memorable note, successfully blending culture, tradition, music, dance, and student talent under one roof. Ethnic Day 2026 and the inauguration of the Dance and Music Clubs stood as a testament to the commitment of the VEARA Students' Union 2025-26 in fostering unity, creativity, and cultural appreciation among the students of VKIDFT, Mannuthy.
