Training held at Meat Technology Unit

                      A one-day training for officers associated with LSGD abattoirs including Health Inspectors, Engineers and Veterinarians was conducted at the Meat Technology Unit from 11-13 Feb, 2014. A total of 56 trainees attended the training in three batches. The topics covered included ensuring clean meat production in LSGD abattoirs, abattoir design features, slaughterhouse cleaning and sanitation and waste management. Representatives of Suchthwa Mission, Panchayat Directorate and Food Safety and Standards Authority also participated in the training. This training programme is being organised by the Directorate of Entrepreneurship, KVASU and implemented by the Meat Technology Unit, Mannuthy. The forthcoming training at MTU will be a Trainers' Training for veterinarians to act as resource persons in skill development programmes for butchers and meat processors, which is scheduled from 17-19, 2014.
