07The staff and students of College of Dairy Science and Technology launched the ‘Clean Campus Campaign’ at the college campus on the 1st day of January, 2015. The campaign aims putting into practice the cleanliness of college campus, dairy plant premises and surrounding area on a continuous basis. The programme was formally inaugurated on 01.01.2015 afternoon 2:00 p.m. by Dr. G. Girish Varma, the Dean of CDST Mannuthy at the dairy plant campus. Prof. (Dr.) P.I. Geevarghese, Head of the Dept. of Dairy Chemistry and Sri. P.J. Thimose, Administrative Officer attended the function and offered their felicitations. The Dean in his inaugural speech told that this novel programme would be the first of such a kind in the University and he requested the wholehearted support of entire staffs and student members of the college to make it a grand success. He also explained that there would be periodic review of the progress of the campaign at least once in every three months time. The college level National Service Scheme unit would co-ordinate various activities under the campaign. The college would also submit a project to the University seeking funds for setting up a permanent mechanism for waste disposal in the campus. The inaugural day witnessed the enthusiasm of staff members and students of the college in cleaning a portion of the University dairy plant campus.
