05The three months obligatory orientation training programe for the Senior Assistant directors of Animal husbandry department organized by the directorate of Entrepreneurship, KVASU concluded on 3rd October 2017. The valedictory function was inaugurated by Hon’ble Registrar, KVASU Dr. Joseph Mathew. The function was presided by the faculty Dean of the University Prof.Latha C. A Handbook depicting the recent advancement in research and technology in the university was released by Dr. N. Ashok, Director, Academic and Research, KVASU. Dr.Sudheer Babu, Member, Board of management, KVASU,Dr. Sabin George, Member, Board of management, KVASU and Dr. K. Anilkumar, Associate Dean , CVAS, Mannuthy offered felicitations. The course Director, Dr.K.M.Lucy briefed the report of the training.
The trainees opined that the training has helped to abreast with the advancement in the profession and need to be offered as courses which would benefit the veterinary professionals at large.They also felt the need to have more frequent interaction among the professionals of the animal husbandry department and KVASU and urged the university to take up research to address the field level issues in the sector. The officers also suggested that the need for project formulation workshop to derive realistic projects in support of promoting livestock entrepreneurship in the State.The officers also felt the need to have a separate division in the Animal husbandry department for catering the animal production activities across the state. 22 officers from 14 districts of the State participated in the training.
