Dairy Entrepreneurship Workshop held at Perumatty

                    The Directorate of Entrepreneurship organized the “Dairy Entrepreneurship workshop” at Perumatty co-operative bank auditorium on 16^th September 2015. The participants were executive member of milk societies and dairy farmers of Perumatty & Vilayodi Panchayats. About 40 participants attended the workshop.  The workshop was inaugurated by Mr.Suresh, Perumatty Grama Panchayat President. During the inaugural speech, he explained the ample scope for entrpeprenuerial activity in this sector and concerted effort from the line departments and the University would help in processing, marketing , production issues in the dairy scenario of the Chittoor block. Mr.Ramesh Venugopal DDM NABARD explained various dairy based entrepreneurial schemes of NABARD. Mr Ramesh stated that NABARD will support “Multi Business Service Centre Models” for marketing of milk and other value added products as well as new product ventures. The Varghese Kurien award winner for the best milk society in India, Mr.Mani, President, Elapully milk society shared his experience in bringing up the society to the forefront and emphasized the need for bringing the stake holding departments for total upliftment in the sector. Dr.Deepa Ananth led the discussions on different entrepreneurial ventures in this sector and developed outline for feasible opportunities. Dr. A. Janus handled session on clean milk production and dairy health management.
