28University Veterinary Hospital, Kokkalai got affiliated to IMAGE (Indian Medical Association Going Eco-friendly) for the handling biomedical waste. The waste will be collected at various units in colour coded containers and bags,as per the directiions of the the Kerala Pollution Control Board, pooled together and removed by the crew of IMAGE in enclosed vans, daily. It is a quantum change in the handling of biomedical waste practiced in this hospital for years. By opting for disposal of this kind we are fixing a benchmark and placing a demonstrable model before the public and the students.
