Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University organized Preparatory training programme entitled ‘Update on clinical practice’ at University Veterinary Hospital, Kokkalai, Thrissur from 14th to 19th December 2015 under the auspices of the Directorate of Clinics. It was intended for the newly recruited Veterinary Surgeons of Animal Husbandry Department. The training program focused on professional skill development in the field of veterinary medicine, surgery, Gynaecology and laboratory diagnosis. During the course, basic skills on surgical and anaesthesia management,ophthalmic and orthopaedic emergency management, critical care and emergency medicine, vaccination protocols,fertility management, pregnancy diagnosis and laboratory diagnosis were imparted. Familiarization of diagnostic facilities like Computed radiography, Doppler ultrasonography, Electrocardiography, endoscopyetcwere also the part of the training. The valedictory function was presided by Dr. K. Vijayakumar, Director of Clinics&Dean, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Pookode. Dr. T. P. Sethumadhavan, Director of Entrepreneurship distributed certificates to the released brochure on University Veterinary Hospital, Kokkalai. Dr. K. D. John Martin was the course Director.
