Sadhthwara’16 National Science Day celebration 2016 held @Pookode

The B.Tech Dairy Science and Technology Programme Pookode in association with Kerala State Council for Science Technology and Environment hosted National Science day Celebration –“Sadhthwara-16” on 25^thFebruary, 2016. Dr.Joseph Mathew, Registrar Kerala Veterinary and Animal Science University officially inaugurated the event. Dr.K Devada, Director of Academics and Research, Dr. GirishVarma, Dean CDST Mannuthy,Dr.K Vijayakumar, Dean COVAS Pookode, Sri K.T Thomas, Managing Director, MRCMPU and Dr. A.K Beena, Special Officer,DST Pookode presided the inaugural ceremony. The main highlight of this event, the launching of food products developed by students as well as staff of DST Pookode was performed by Dr.KVijayakumar,Dr.GirishVarma and Dr.KDevada. The celebration also witnessed technical session on topics “Science and Technology driven innovations in Dairy industry” and “Probiotic Health drinks” handled by Sri K.T Thomas,MD, MRCMPU and Ms.ShebaSugathan, Kerala Science congress 2016 Best Paper Award Winner respectively. A quiz competition for professional college students was also hosted during the event. Team members from COVAS,Pookode secured first position followed by CDST Mannuthy in the second position. The programme concluded with a valedictory function in which Dr.N.Divakaran Nair,Director of Students welfare inaugurated various clubs formed by the students of DST Pookode.
