06College of Dairy Science and Technology, Mannuthy, observed World Environment Day on 06.06.2016 at Seminar hall of Dairy Plant, Mannuthy. Dr. U. T. Francis, Retd. Professor, Department of Dairy Science, COVAS, Mannuthy was the Chief Guest. Dr. Girish Varma, Faculty Dean inaugurated the programme. Students’ Union president, Ms. Haritha.C presided over the function. Dr. P. I. Geevarghese (Chairman, IDA -Kerala Chapter), Dr. S. N. Rajakumar (Professor & Head, Dairy Plant) and Dr. Yancy Mary Issac, Asst. Professor felicitated the programme. Dr. Yancy introduced about the Eco club which is going to be started in the college to promote organic farming among the students using grow bags made from used and unwanted flex. Dr. G. Girish Varma, Dean, CDST honoured the Chief Guest. Mr. Shyam Suraj S. R, Assistant Professor welcomed the gathering and Mr. Amal Biswas, NSS Secretary gave the vote of thanks. As part of the programme, saplings of different trees were planted in the campus.
