WORLD ZOONOSES DAY CELEBRATION

VENUE:  PARMEKKAVU VIDYA MANDIR SCHOOL,  THRISSUR

World Zoonoses Day was organized on July 8th , 2016  by School of Zoonoses Public Health and Pathobiology in association of NSS units of College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy at  Parmekkavu Vidya Mandir School,  Thrissur The programme was inaugurated by Dr R Padbanabha Iyer , Retd Prof. and Head, Dept of VPH, CVAS, Mannuthy. Dr C Latha, Prof. and Head, Dept. of VPH, gave an overview of the programme. The felicitation address was by Dr C B Manamohan, Retd. Prof. , Dept of Veterinary Pathology. Ms Anjali, NSS Secretary delivered the vote of thanks.

A seminar was organized on ‘ZOONOSES’ for high school students of the school and the session was handled by Dr Binsy Mathew, Asst Prof. Dept of VPH, CVAS, Mannuthy. A painting competition on ‘Pets and zoonoses’ was also held for the students. A quiz competition was organized for the students which was conducted by Dr K Vrinda Menon, Asst Professor, Dept of VPH, CVAS Mannuthy.

An exhibition on zoonoses was also organized in the school premises for the students as a part of the awareness campaign on ‘Know zoonoses to No Zoonoses’ .

The valedictory function was organized at 3.00 PM and the prizes were distributed to the winners of quiz and painting competition.
