18 Brainstorming session to further improve the management of the Hospitals of KVASU was held on 17.11.2011 at Conference Hall of College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy. Introductory remarks of Director, Academics and Research was delivered, in his absence by Dr.S.Ramkumar, Director of Entrepreneurship. Director of Entrepreneurship reiterated the responsibility of KVASU to equip the Veterinary hospitals of Mannuthy, Pookode and Kokkalai with state of art facilities and services and improvement of hospital managing system to suit the future needs.
To formulate strategies and suggestions, 20 clinical faculty members were grouped into four, cutting across the disciplines. The group leaders, Dr.K.N.Aravinda Ghosh, Dr.C.B.Devanand, Dr.K.Rajankutty and Dr.M.R.Saseendranath, presented the views of respective groups. While concluding the presentations, Dr.P.C.Alex, Professor of Clinics appreciated the members for their valuable suggestions and called for urgent action. To start with, computers with net work connectivity and information kiosks are immediately required. Starting and functioning of TVCC is the immediate step to be taken preferably before the beginning of next academic year.
In the closing remarks, Director of Entrepreneurship suggested that online registration of cases, providing animal handler/attendants, linking of telemedicine and videoconferencing facilities and improving of facilities for waste management have to be completed on a priority basis.
