Dairy farmers who attended the seminar suggested that mastitis is one of the diseases affecting economic milk production in the district. CDS Chairperson Smt.Bindu presided over the function. Dr.T.P.Sethumadhavan, Director of Entrepreneurship, KVASU delivered the keynote address. Dairy farmers need to think of practicing adequate control measures against mastitis rather than treatment. Proper housing management coupled with floor management, scientific milking coupled with teat dipping and dry cow therapy will help to control the emergence of mastitis. Early detection and treatment will facilitate to regain milk production. Since multi drug resistant organisms started emerging across the country, farmers need to follow advice of the qualified veterinarians to control mastitis. Experts added.
