Brief Report of farmers training entitled 'Commercial Goat Farming' held from 10-8-2016 to 11-8-2016

An innovative training programme entitled ‘Commercial Goat Farming’ was conducted at University Goat and Sheep Farm, Mannuthy, Thrissur for two days from 10/8/2016 to 11/8/2016 with collaboration with Directorate of Entrepreneurship, KVASU. Twelve budding entrepreneurs participated in the training. The training was organised with 6 lecuture sessions and 2 practical sessions. Farmers were trained on scientific basis in breeding, feeding, health and management of goat farming. Besides, brief sessions were arranged on maintenance of records, economics of goat farming and waste management by experts in the relevant field. On farm practical sessions were conducted for handling, breeding, care and management of kids, does. Experts from different subjects took sessions. The training ended with distribution of certificates.
