08A two days hands-on training programme on meat processing and value addition in meat and poultry processing sector was organized by Meat Technology Unit and Department of Livestock Products Technology on 6th and 7th September 2016. The programme was inaugurated by Dr Joseph Mathew, Registrar, Kerala Veterinary and Animal Science University. Dr. V.N Vasudevan, Assistant Professor welcomed the gathering, Dr. Sathu T, Course Director presented the overview of the training programme. Dr. B. Sunil, Professor and Head, Meat Technology unit addressed the trainees. Dr. Binsy Mathew offered vote of thanks.
This training covered newer technologies in hygienic poultry meat production, processing, packaging, storage and marketing. The trainees were also given hands on training in the preparation of chicken samosa, chicken cutlet, chicken roll, nuggets, meat pickle, chicken patties etc. The equipments and machineries required for the processing of the meat products were also explained during training. The training was attended by the potential entrepreneurs and unemployed youth from Malappuram, Thrissur and Kozhikode.
Dr.N. Divakaran Nair, Director of Students Welfare, during the valedictory function addressed the gathering and issued the certificates to the trainees.
