KVASU to launch CONNECT-2016 and Package of Practices Recommendations-2016at Triivandrum

Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University is organizing a programme namely CONNECT-2016 to release the new ‘Package of Practices  – 2016, Inauguration of ‘CONNECT (Interface between Scientists and field level officers) and the launch of the new Interactive Entrepreneurial web portal‘KVASU-LEAP’(www.kvasuleap.in) on 30^th of November 2016. The programme will be held at Mascot Hotel, Thiruvananthapuram, at 10:00 AM.

 The web portal KVASU LEAP is developed as part of the plan project 2016-’17, entitled -‘Developing specialized software for livestock entrepreneurs of the state’. It is a comprehensive entrepreneur advisory portal where information supporting new entrants in the livestock sector such as schemes of different government institutions, trainings offered, current projects of the local self-governments, funding opportunities etc. will be made available for prospective entrepreneurs in the sector. All information related to Dairy, Poultry and meat regarding the production, processing, marketing and value addition opportunities within the country and abroad, institutions supporting the programmes, etc. are included in the portal. This venture is supported by various like-minded stakeholding organistions like Animal Husbandry Department, Dairy Development Department, Milma, Kudumbasree, KLD board, Kerala Feeds, KILA etc. This interactive portal will facilitate consultancy services for potential entrepreneurs.

‘Package of Packages Recommendations (Veterinary) 2016’ is the 1^st edition of the Package of Practices (POP) of KVASU for the veterinarians, scientists, farmers and entrepreneurs.Directorate of entrepreneurship of KVASU is organizing an interface between KVASU scientists and officers of Animal HusbandryDepartment, Dairy DevelopmentDepartment and other public sector undertakings namely‘CONNECT’ on the same day.User friendly mobile applications developed for farmers as a part of the plan project will be released during the function.

Sri.K Muraleedharan, MLA, will preside over the meeting. Sri. Anil Xavier IAS, Vice Chancellor, Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University will deliver the key note address.The portal KVASU LEAP will be launched by Smt. E.S. Bijimol, Hon’ble M.L.A. The ‘Package of Practices Recommendations– 2016’will be released by Adv.V.S.Sunilkumar,Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ welfare, Government of Kerala. Adv. K.Raju, Hon’ble  Minister for Forests, Animal Husbandry and Zoos will inaugurate Connect interface programme. Sri.C.K.Saseendran MLA and Sri. O.R.Kelu MLA will release mobile applications developed for the Entrepreneurs. Board of Management members,People’s representatives, Government department heads,scientists,veterinary experts and progressive entrepreneurs in livestock sector will attend the function.
