Workshop on Culture of Responsibility held at CVAS, Mannuthy

Workshop on ‘Culture of Responsibility was organized by the School of Zoonoses Public Health and Pathobiology , Academic Staff College and Institutional Biosafety Committee in association with the American Society of Microbiology for the post graduate and Ph.D students of College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy on December 30th 2016. The programmewas organized as part of the special recommendation form theInstitutional Biosafety Committee to create awareness and train the post graduate research students on conducting responsible research. The training was attended by 67 students. DrArivandakshanT.V. ,Dean In Charge inaugurated the workshop. The workshop included sessions on biological safety and biosecurity in the laboratory and need for responsible research. The sessions were handled by DrBinsy Mathew, Dr C Sethulekshmi and Dr K VrindaMenon on biosafety and biosecurity and conduct of responsible research .The Institutional Biosafety Committee members Dr.E.Sreekumar Scientist , RGCB, Thiruvananthapuram, Dr.MadhavanNampoothiri, Scientist, NIIST, Dr.B.Sunil, Director, ASC and Dr.Bibu addressed the participants. The videos and the training modules were provided by ASM. The participants actively participated in the various sessions of the workshop. The workshop concluded with the distribution of certificates to the participants by Dr.K. P. Sreekumar, Professor, Research Coordination of the university.
