23Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University in association with Lakshadweep administration, Kavarati launched five day Poultry Entrepreneurship training programme at Directorate of Entrepreneurship, Mannuthy, Thrissur on 23rd January 2017. 25 Entrepreneurs from five islands of Lakshadweep are attending the training programme. Training programme includes skill development training in the areas of Broiler Poultry production and layers in management, scientific feeding, processing and marketing. Entrepreneurs will be given training at the Poultry farms of Centre for advanced studies in Poultry production and University Poultry farms. Director of Entrepreneurship, Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences Dr.T.P.Sethumadhavan inaugurated the programme. He emphasized the importance of Poultry entrepreneurship and long standing association with Lakshadweep Animal Husbandry Department in the area of Poultry production. University is planning to extend the advisory call centre facilities of e Vetconnect in Lakshadweep Islands. Scientists from KVASU will visit the Island and conduct trainers training programme for the Veterinarians of Lakshadweep. Dr. B.Sankaralingam, Asst Professor & Officer in Charge of University Poultry farm presided over the function. Dr.Sumena.K.B Asst Professor& the Co-ordinator of the programme, Dr.Deepa Ananth, Asst Professor and Veterinary Officer from Lakshadweep Animal Husbandry Department Dr.M.I.Koya offered felicitations.
