29Hands on training for small scale entrepreneurs ‘Fermentation for value addition’ under KSCSTE project ‘Biotechnology Innovations for Rural development’ started from 2505.2017 at College of Dairy Science and Technology, Pookode. Ms. Anupa Augustine, welcomed the gathering. Smt. ArchanaChandran, Principal Investigator, BIRD project presided the function. The training programme was inaugurated by Faculty Dean (Dairy Science) Dr. G.Girish Varma. Dr.Dinker Singh, Assistant Professor, CDST Pookode, Dr. Subin Mohan, Assistant Professor, CVAS, Pookode, Dr. Athira S, Assistant Professor, CFT Thumboormuzhy and Smt. Harsha V.S, Dairy Extension Officer, Kalpetta felicitated the gathering. Ms. Akila V delivered vote of thanks. The focus areas of the training programme are preparation of fermented milk products like yoghurts/curds, srikhand, cheese/paneer, butter milk, lassi, and whey drinks.
