World Environment Day celebration at CDST, Pookode

 The World Environmental Day celebration 2017 'KURUMTHOTTI' was conducted at College of Dairy Science and Technology, Pookode on June 5th 2017 by the Students Union 2017-2018. As a part of programme Special Officer Smt.Archana Chandran addressed the students and shared the ‘Green Protocol’ message to the staff and students and formed the Green protocol monitoring team. The students planted fodder crops in pots. Dr.Jincy, Assistant professor,CVAS Pookode demonstrated the seed bed preparation and fodder crop planting. The students cleaned the college premises. Students Union conducted a Debate on the topic 'Development a curse or a boon for the Environment'. All the students actively participated in the programme. Inaugural ceremony was conducted at 3pm. Mr. Sidharth, Students Union Secretary welcomed the gathering. Mr.Mathews Jolly President Students Union presided the function. Ms.Suma Vishnudas, Scientist, M.S Swaminathan Research Foundation,Wayand inaugurated the function and presented a special lecture on the topic ‘Connecting man to nature’. Mr. Gokul, Secretary Social Service League delivered vote of thanks. Later a Documentary 'Before the flood' was projected to create awareness among the students about the current issues related to environment.
