College of Dairy Science and Technology, Mannuthy Celebrates World Environment Day 2017

Under the auspices of the Students Union - College of Dairy Science and Technology, Indian Dairy Association – Kerala Chapter, National Service Scheme Unit and Dharani Eco Club, World Environment Day was celebrated at CDST, Mannuthy on June 5. As part of the programme a talk on the ‘Health and Politics of Environment’ was given by Dr. T.V. Sajeev, Scientist and Head, Forest Health Division, Kerala Forest Research Institute. Also an interaction was arranged for the students with Ms. Minifor Pazhayaattil, Anna Swiss Farm, Ashtamichira who is the State award winner for the Best woman dairy farmer.

The programme conducted at VKIDFT class room was inaugurated by Dr. P.I. Geevarghese, Chairman, IDA- Kerala chapter; presided over by the Dean i/c Dr. A.K. Beena. Dr. S.N. Rajakumar, Head, KVASU Dairy Plant and Mr. Abdul Samad gave the felicitations. Ms. Meghna welcomed the gathering and Mr. Abhiram gave the vote of thanks. Seedlings of Mahogany were planted at VKIDFT campus and students with faculty made a walk with nature. Poster making and photography competitions were conducted and winners were given prizes by the guests.
