27The members of the oversight committee inspecting the projects and activities undertaken under the Expenditure Finance Committee ( EFC) special grant of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi visited the various campuses of Kerala Veterinary and Animal sciences University on 21st and 22nd July,2017.
A total of 72.0174 crores was received from the ICAR as EFC Special Grant during 12-13, 13-14 and 14-15. The fund was utilised for establishing schools and centres of research and learning, purchase of equipment, improving instructional farms construction of Teaching Veterinary Clinical complex, renovation of Dairy plant and meat technology unit, Library complex , canteen, auditorium, gymnasium and research laboratories.
The members were appraised of the various projects with the activities / outcome by the Director (Academics and Research) through a power-point presentation. Later they were taken around the campuses. The team deeply valued the working of the Central instrumentation facility at Mannuthy, Feed mill at Mannuthy, Biodiesel plant at Pookode and other staff and student amenities like the Library complex, Kabani auditorium, Gymnasium and canteen facilities.
The members comprising of Dr. P. S Pandey (ADG-EP & HS), Dr. A. K.Vashist, (ADG-PIM) and Sri. Devendrakumar (Director-Works) expressed their appreciation on the impact and activities undertaken by the University and were satisfied with the project output. The members also interacted with the staff and students promising more funds in future to complete any unfinished projects. The ICAR Best Teacher Award of CVAS, Pookode was given away to the recipients by the ICAR dignitaries.
