20Students of the College of Dairy Science and Technology, Mannuthy received first and second prize among two categories at the Debate Competition conducted as part of Rashtriya Mahila Kisan Divas 2017 celebrations conducted by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, KAU, Vellanikkara. First prize was received by Ms. Anjumol Jacob (2014- BDM- 09) and second prize by Abidha P.K (2014-BDM-02).
Rashtriya Mahila Kisan Divas 2017 is observed for the first time and it falls on October 15 every year. The day is observed to recognise the contribution of women in Agriculture. Best women farmers of the district in agriculture and dairy were honoured. Ms. Indira Mohan (Vice President, Madakkathara Panchayath), Dr. A. Prema (Professor and Head, KVK) and Dr. Alexander George (Associate Director of Extension) were present at the programme.
