20University Goat and Sheep Farm, Mannuthy had organized the 25th two days training on “Commercial Goat Farming” on 13th and 14th December, 2017. Eleven farmers/entrepreneurs participated in the programme. The training programme was inaugurated by Dr. Joseph Mathew, Registrar, KVASU, presided by Dr. A.P. Usha, Director of Farms and Dr. T.V. Aravindakshan, Director, CASAGB delivered the felicitation. Training manual entitled ‘Aaduvalarthal aadayathinum swayam thozhilinum’ was released during the occasion. The training started with an introductive lecture by Dr. R. Thirupathy Venkatachalapathy, Head, Goat and Sheep Farm, followed by lectures from experts from various disciplines which include Dr. Usha Narayana Pillai, Professor and Head, Department of Clinical Medicine, Dr. Manju Sasidharan, Assistant Professor, Department of Livestock Production Management, Dr. V. Vishnu Savanth, Research Associate and Dr. Safeer M. Saifudeen, Senior Research Fellow, ICAR-AICRP on Malabari Goat Improvement. The trainees were then taken for a field trip to a goat farm at Thiroor having 125 goats, maintained by Chaldean Seminary.
The valedictory function was graced by the presence of Dr. C.Latha, Dean, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy and Dr. P.V. Tresamol, Associate Dean. Dr. C.Latha, Dean addressed the gathering and distributed the certificates to participants.
