Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Pookode, Wayanad has been chosen as the recipient of the Emerging Young University Award for the Year 2016 - 2017.

The Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Pookode, Wayanad has been chosen as the recipient of the Emerging Young University Award for the Year 2016 - 2017 in lieu of the exemplary achievements in the relevant parameters specified by the Selection Committee. These range across a diverse set that comprehensively reflect the quality and scope of delivery of higher education by the Universities and include Academic Performance, Teaching, Pedagogy methods, Students' Profiles and Academic Governance among others.

The Award truly symbolizes the keen desire of the State to foster excellence in higher education. The Award has been launched with the primary objective of nurturing a healthy spirit of competition among the young Universities set up post 2005, under the Chancellor. It is hoped that this will further inspire all the young Universities to nurture their strengths and address their deficiencies and grow constantly to take their place among the array of the most distinguished academic institutions both in the country and across the world.

The award carries a Trophy and a cash prize of Rs.One crore provided by the State Government.
