World Environment Day 2018 celebrations and Iftar Party on 5th June 2018 at CDST Thiruvananthapuram.

The Students’ Union 2018-19 of College of Dairy Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram organized World Environment Day 2018 Celebrations and Iftar Party on 5th June 2018 in a modest yet beautiful manner. The campus officially declared to follow ‘Green Protocol’. Plastic waste management is encouraged under the banner “Beat Plastic Pollution”. Several competitions like Environment Quiz, Pic of the Day Contest; Collage Making Contest etc. were arranged as part of the Environment Day celebrations. Sri. G. R. Jayadevan, Special Officer, CDST Thiruvananthapuram inaugurated the programme. He in his inaugural speech stressed the growing relevance of a time bound action against plastic pollution. He also added that “Beat Plastic Pollution” which is the theme for World Environment Day 2018, is a call to action for all of us to come together to combat one of the great environmental challenges of this era. Sri. Rejeesh R., Associate Patron of College Students’ Union 2018-19 felicitated the organizers for conducting the event in a nice manner. Prizes were distributed to winners of competitions. It was followed by Iftar Party. Entire teaching and non-teaching staff along with students whole heartedly participated in both the events.
