CDST final year B. Tech (Dairy Science and Technology) students complete Extension Training

Final year (2014 batch) B. Tech (Dairy Science and Technology) students of the College of Dairy Science and Technology, Mannuthy completed their 7 days Field level Extension Training at Wayanad from 2.7.2018 to 9.7.2018. The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dairy Development Department, Wayanad. The programme was inaugurated by Sri. P.T.Gopala Kurup, Chairman, KCMMF (milma). As part of the training, students visited different milk societies, innovative dairy farmers, dairy plants, dairy extension offices, community radio etc. and conducted farmers contact programme, milk line quality study and dairy farmer’s survey.

They had interaction with Kalpetta MLA and BOM member of KVASU, Sri. C.K.Saseendran who is a dairy farmer himself. The students received excellent field level learning opportunities. The programme was guided by Mr. Joshy Joseph (Deputy Director), Mr. M. Prakash (Deputy Director), Assistant Directors, Dairy Extension Officers and Dairy Farm Instructors of Dairy Development Department, Wayanad. The valedictory function was attended by Mr. Jose Immanual (Joint Director - Dairy) and Dr. P. Sudheer Babu (Dean, Faculty of Dairy Science and Technology). The co-ordinators were Smt. Harsha V. (Dairy Extension Officer, Kalpetta) and Sri. Shyam Suraj S.R. (Assistant Professor – Dairy Extension).
