WORLD FOOD DAY CELEBRATION - CDST, TVM

"Our actions are our future – A zero hunger world by 2030 is possible’’ being the FAO’s theme of World food Day 2018.The Students Union, CDST, TVM proposed their solidarity towards this theme by launching actions towards alleviating poverty in our society. To connect with this concept, Union offered lunch packets collected from households inside the College Campus and Dayscholar students to the patients and by-standers at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College on 16.10.2018, the World Food Day. This was done through the much acclaimed ‘Hrudaya Poorvam’ programme launched by the fore runners in Kerala’s youth movement activities. Besides this, Union conducted a Quiz competition at the college auditorium on Food and Nutrition. Kum. Cissa Aby and Kum. Maria C Shibu of 2018 Admission bagged the first prize in the event. All these programmes though being small steps, still a leap from the CDST Trivandrum family towards eradicating hunger by 2030 and supporting the noble vision of FAO in this venture. The union is committed to organise such programmes and showcase events for a cause in the days to come.
