17Bioscience Research and Training Centre (BRTC) in association with School of Applied Animal Production and Biotechnology (SAAPBT) and Directorate of Entrepreneurship (DoE), KVASU organized two days hands-on training programme on ‘Introduction to Bioinformatics Tools for Life Science Research’ for faculty members and research personnel involved in teaching/research in biological science.
The course covered theory lectures and practical demonstrations to have a basic understanding on topics on biological databases and resources, primer designing and analysis, sequence analysis, sequence alignment methods, microsatellite analysis etc.
The two days sessions were handled by Prof. (Dr.) T.V. Aravindakshan Director, Centre for Advanced Studies in Animal Genetics & Breeding, Mannuthy, Dr. Radhika G, Assistant Professor, Centre for Advanced Studies in Animal Genetics & Breeding, Mannuthy, Dr. Bimal C.B. Dept. of Animal Breeding, Genetics and Biostatistics, CVAS, Pookode and Dr. Shalu Elizabeth Simon, SRF, Centre for Advanced Studies in Animal Genetics & Breeding, Mannuthy. 19 participants from different universities both inside and outside Kerala participated in the training programme.
