National Seminar on one Health Initiative in addressing food safety Challenges started at Thrissur

The inaugural ceremony of the National Seminar on ‘One Health Initiative in addressing food safety challenges’ jointly organized by the Indian Association of Veterinary Public Health Specialists (IAVPHS), Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (KVASU) and the Kerala State Veterinary Council (KSVC) was held on 16th February, 2012 at Hotel Das Continental, Thrissur. Dr. H. Subrahmanian, the Dean of the College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy, welcomed the gathering. Hon’ble M.L.A. Shri. Therambil Ramakrishnan inaugurated the seminar and distributed the Indian Association of Veterinary Public Health Specialists’ National Media Awards for best reporting, Broadcast and Telecast in Public Health & food safety along with the National Entrepreneurship and quality Assurance Award. Suguna Poultry Farm received National Entrepreneurship and Quality Assurance. Radhakrishnan Naripppatta (Mathrubhumi) Davis Pynadath (Deepika), Bineesh Kottarathil (Amrita TV), Ranjith Nair (Kerala vision) Raju Pavaratty (TCV) and All India Radio, Thrissur received National Media Awards.Dr. S.P. Singh, President, IAVPHS delivered the presidential address Dr. C.B. Manomohan, Registrar, KVASU released the compendium. Dr. S. Ramkumar, Director of Entrepreneurship inaugurated the poster session. Felicitations were offered by Dr. N. N. Sasi, Registrar, Kerala State Veterinary Council , Dr. Rajendra Kumar, Dean, College of Dairy Science and Technology and Dr. Ashok Kumar, Secretary, IAVPHS. Dr. C. Latha, Organizing Secretary proposed vote of thanks.
