            Traditional Animal Husbandry practices  must be popularised in the state -Says Hon'ble Minister for Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Sri. K.P.Mohanan during the inaugural address of Jeevdarsan of Malabar Mrigasamrakshana mela 2012  at Swapnanagari, Kozhikkode on 24th February 2012. The programme was organised by Kozhikkode District administration and Animal Husbandry Department of the state. With the assistance from Government of India, Urban Poultry rearing project will be implented in the state. In the era where food security issues are emerging, measures to improve production of milk, meat and eggs will be one of the thrust areas. Agriculture and Animal Husbandry practices must be linked with the culture and  tradition for  socio economic development of the state. Minister added. Sri.Pradeepkumar MLA presided over the function. District Panchayat President Smt. K.Jameela distributed awards. District Collector Dr.P.B.Salim IAS welcomed the gathering.

Directorate of Entrepreneurship of KVASU is participating in the three day exhibition organized at Kozhikkode as part of Jeevdarsan. Director of Entrepreneurship Dr.S.Ramkumar inaugurated the Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University's pavilion.Dr.T.P.Sethumadhavan, Dr.Joseh Mathew, Dr.Zakkariya and Dr. Gireeshkumar attended the function.

Animal Husbandry investor's meet was held at Kozhikkode on 25th Feb2012. Sri. Sreyamskumar MLA inaugurated the seminar. Dr.S.Ramkumar, Director of Entrepreneurship, KVASU handled a session on employment opportunities in Livestock sector.
