TENDER NOTICE
 
      Sealed competitive tenders are invited for supply of feed ingredients listed below required to the Instructional Farm, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Pookode  for the  year 2012-2013.   Rate per quintal should be quoted.

Terms & Conditions
 
1.      The tenders should be addressed to the Dean, College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Pookode in a sealed cover duly superscribed “INF/PKT/250/2012 - Tender for supply of Feed Ingredients for the year 2012 -13. The last date for the receipt of filled in tenders is 2.30 pm on 18/04/2012 and the same will be opened at 3.00 pm on the same date in the presence of tenderers or their authorized representatives who may be present at that time. If any bundh/strike/any unexpected holiday occurs on the date of opening of tender, the tender will be opened at the same time on the next working day.


 
2.      The cost of tenders has to be remitted in the College Office by cash at the time of submitting of tenders. The particulars of the cost of tender forms is detailed below:

        Tenders should be submitted in the prescribed forms which can be downloaded from the website www.kvasu.ac.in. The cost of tender forms will not be refunded under any circumstances. 
                           
Each tender should be accompanied by an EMD of one per cent of the quoted amount in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Dean, College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Pookode payable at State Bank of Travancore, Kalpetta. The tender should be accompanied by an agreement in Kerala Stamp Paper worth Rs. 100/- and the format can be downloaded from the above website. Withdrawal of tenders after its acceptance or failure to supply the ingredients during the specified period or not according to specifications will entail cancellation of the tender and purchase will be affected from elsewhere at the expense of the Contractor. The successful tenderer should supply the intended items to the indenting officer within 15 days from the date of receipt of the indent. Otherwise the items will be purchased locally or elsewhere and any loss sustained thereby will be payable by the defaulter. In such events, the University reserves the right to remove the defaulters name from the list of suppliers permanently or for a specific period.
 
Rate quoted should be for net weight of the ingredients excluding containers or any other packing materials. In the case of feed ingredients, the containers have to be taken back by the contractor as and when they are empty.               
 
            Sample for each ingredient should be given along with the tender in 2 packets of     100 gm. each in sealed polythene packets and properly labelled. Attested copy of title deed/partnership agreement (as the case may be) Registration No. should also be submitted along with the tender. It is mandatory that all tenderers must be Sales Tax registered and to furnish tax clearance Certificates from Sales Tax Department whenever called for it. Feed ingredients should be free from Aflatoxin within safe limit and fit for animal/poultry feeding. Specifications of feed sample, approximate quantity required for the year 2012-13 (up to 31.03.2013) are shown above. The quantity may vary in certain unexpected occasions and the successful tenderer will be bound to supply the ingredients at the accepted rates till the period of contract expires.
 


 
 
Final selection of the item for purchase will be based on the overall Nutrient Composition, Aflatoxin content and fluorine level. For the items like yellow maize, wheat bran, common salt, and shell grit, the basis of selection will be physical characteristics, presence of extraneous matter, extent of weevil infestation, moisture content etc.
 
 The articles should be good quality, properly packed (for compounded feed inner protective polythene linage is required) and in conformity with the samples produced with the tender. If the articles are found to be inferior, quality or contaminated and adultered when compared to the samples, the lot will be summarily rejected and the supplier will have to take back the material at his cost within 15 days of intimation.
 
 In case when the successful tenderer having made partial supplies fails to fulfill the contract in full, all or any of the material not supplied will be purchased by means of tender quotation or negotiation or from the next lowest tender who had offered to supply already and the loss, if any, caused to the University together with such sum as may be fixed by the University towards the damages shall be recovered from the defaulting tenderers.
      
The Dean, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Pookode reserves the right to accept or reject any tenders without assigning any reason there of. The feed analysis report received from the Department of Nutrition of the College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Pookode will be final.
 
The successful tenderers should execute an agreement in the Kerala Stamp Paper worth Rs. 100/- and furnish security deposit of 5% of the cost of feed ingredients quoted within 7 days after the acceptance of tender for the satisfactory fulfillment of the contract failing which payment will not be made to the contractor. Security Deposit in the form of Term Deposit/Bank guarantee/DD drawn in favour of the Dean, College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Pookode payable at SBT Kalpetta is to be furnished.
 
Late tenders and tenders without EMD and agreement will be summarily rejected. All the rules pertaining to Government Tenders will be applicable to this tender also.
