15The National Service Scheme units I and II of College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy celebrated World Hospice and Palliative Care Day and World Mental Health Day on 10th October, 2020. A photography competition with the theme “Pets in Palliative Care and Mental Health” was conducted for all school and college students and e-certificates were provided for all participants. The first prize was won by Ms. Silpa Mol. P.S, CVAS, Mannuthy; second prize by Dhrishya. A.P of CVAS, Mannuthy and third prize by Vishnu P.M. of CVAS, Mannuthy.
The NSS volunteers and students who are members of Students’ Initiative in Palliative Care also launched a video in “Instagram”. The video stresses the importance of our mere presence as well as the role of pets, in palliative care.
The programmes were organized under the guidance of Dean, CVAS, Mannuthy, Dr. C. Latha and NSS coordinator of KVASU Dr. Rajeev. T.S. NSS Programme Officers of the units and Volunteer secretaries co-ordinated the events.
