CDST CELEBRATES NATIONAL MILK DAY

Mannuthy/26 November 2020: College of Dairy Science and Technology ,Mannuthy ,in association with Indian Dairy Association ,conducted online celebration on   National milk Day 2020 memorizing Dr.Vergeese Kurien,the Milk Man Of India, on his 99 th Birthday .In accordance to this,a commemoration lecture was organized virtually using Google Meet application  due to the current pandemic situation.The programme started with the welcome note given by Dr.Ligimol James,Assistant Professor,Dairy Microbiology Department.Chairman’s address was given by Dr.S.N Rajakumar,Chairman,IDA Kerala Chapter.

Shri.C.P.Charles ,Chairman,IDA,South Zone and Dr.P .Sudheerbabu  dean CDST felicitated the event.Introduction to the speaker was done by Dr.P.I.Geevarghese,Vice Chairman,IDA,South Zone.The speaker of the event ,Dr.M.P.G Kurup,Former Board Member and Executive Director NDDB gave the commemoration lecture in which he shared his experience in working with the legend,Dr.Vergheese Kurien and the challenges the industry faced during its pioneer and subsequent stages .In the following session, the growth ,and present scenario prevailing in the country with regard to Dairy Industry were discussed .The event successfully came to an end with the vote of thanks delivered by Dr.S Athira,Assistant Professor,College of Food Technology,Thumburmuzhy.
