06Three eminent Professors of Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Mannuthy campus, Thrissur retired from service consequent to superannuation. They are Professor C.R.Lalitha kunjamma(Professor & Head, Department of Pathology, CVAS, Mannuthy), Professor P.T.Philomina (Professor & Head, Department of Physiology, CVAS, Mannuthy and Professor P.A.Peethambaran (Director, Centre for Advanced Studies in Poultry Science, Professor & Head, Department of Poultry Science, CVAS, Mannuthy). Dr.Lalithakunjamma and Dr.P.T.Philomina retired on 24th May 2012 and Dr.P.A.Peethambaran on 2nd June 2012.
Dr.C.R.Lalitha kunjamma’s area of specialization is Mycotoxins and area of interest is effect of herbals in animal diseases.
Dr.Philomina’s specialization is Avian Physiology, Hematology (Both birds & Animals) & Environmental Stress. Area of interest is Avian physiology (Digestion, Growth, reproduction etc), investigation of health status through Hematological parameters and Endocrine profile of animals &Birds, Stress physiology in relation with climatic variations in birds, animals like pigs.
Professor Philomina has more than 60 scientific articles to her credit.
Dr. P.A.Peethambaran’s area of specialization is Poultry science and area of interest is indigenous Poultry production and has more than 30 articles to his credit.Dr.Peethambaran’s effort paved the way for popularizing unique technology transfer project of KVASU the Aiswarya Poultry Project in the State. Senior Officials of KVASU, Faculty, Staff and students of College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy gave a farewell party to the Professors and wished them active retired life in close association with the academic and research activities of the University.
