17 Dr.M.R.Saseendranath, Head of Dept. Veterinary Epidemiology and Preventive medicine, CVAS. Mannuthy took charge as the new Director of Academics & Research of Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University. Dr.Saseendranath graduated from College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences during 1977 in second rank, did Masters in Veterinary Medicine from University of Agricultural Sciences ,Bangalore during 1980 and doctorate from Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences ,Chennai during 1994. He has 34 years of active service who started his career at University Pig breeding Farm, Mannuthy. Served at various capacities in various stations LRS.,Thiruvazhamkunnu;ULF.,Mannuthy;UVH.,Kokkalai, KVK,Ambalavayal and CVAS.,Mannuhty. Professor Saseendranath was acting as Head of Dept. Veterinary Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine,CVAS.,Mannuthy since 1998. Served as HOD.,Dept of VeterinaryMedicine,AlMerGebUniversity ,al Khooms,Libya during 2009-2011. Dr.Saseendranath has Published nearly 90 research papers, authored three books, 15 popular articles and acted as Major guide for one PhD student and 13 MVSc students.As minor guide for four PhDstudents and 15 MVSc students. He had received Dr P. G. Nair endowment award for Best Teacher from the faculty of Veterinary and Animal Science during 2004 and Bharat Ratna Dr.C.Subramaniam Nationalaward for outstanding teacher from ICAR during 2004-05. Dr. Saseendranath was a core group member for formulating various Animal disease control projects of Animal Husbandry department.,Govt of Kerala
