Dr.V.Prasad, Professor & Head Department of Dairy Science of College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy retired from service due to superannuation on 18th May 2013. Dr.Prasad was instrumental in starting two year Diploma and Master of Science programme in Dairy Science. Through his efforts 75 percent of the MS dairy Science students were received better jobs through Campus Placement. Professor Prasad's areas of interest are Fermented milk Technology, Probiotics, Improvement of health related attributes of Lactic Acid Bacteria specifically on Bifidobacteria. Food borne pathogens and Antimicrobials. Dr.Prasad who belongs to 1972 batch of CVAS, Mannuthy took graduation, post graduation and PhD in Dairy Microbiology from CVAS, Mannuthy. Dr.Prasad has to his credit 45 scientific articles in National and International journals and authored four books. Vice Chancellor, officers, faculty, staff and students of KVASU wish him a very active retired life in close association with the research activities of the University.
