06The nature activists of the Veterinary College, Mannuthy gathered at the shade of the “Oonjal Tree” as a part of the World Environment Day celebrations 2013, highlighting the motto ‘THINK, EAT & SAVE’. The gathering organized by the Centre for Animal Adaptation to Environment and Climate studies (CAADECCS) in co-operation with the NCC unit also pledged to conserve the nature. As a part of the program many saplings were planted. Dr. P. C. Saseendran, the Dean, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy presided over the function. Dr.K.Sudhakara, Dean, College of Forestry, Kerala Agricultural University delivered keynote address. Each of them planted a tree and distributed saplings to student class representatives of the college. Dr.P. I. Geevarghese, Dean i/c, College of Dairy Science and Technology, Mannuthy and Mr. Sarath Babu, secretary of Students Union, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy, offered felicitations.Dr. G. Girish Varma, Implemeting officer, CAADECCS welcomed the gathering and Dr. A. Prasad, Assistant Professor proposed vote of thanks. NCC cadets, students, teachers, ministerial and technical staff and labourers actively participated in the program.
