Government of India has nominated Dr.B.Ashok, Vice Chancellor of Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University as the member of Veterinary Council of India (VCI). VCI is involved in regulation of Veterinary education in the country. Dr.Ashok has been nominated based on his activities in strengthening Veterinary education and research in the country. Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University in association with University of Edinburgh have taken a key role in implementing problem based learning for Veterinary education and research in the country. Moreover Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University is gearing up for major development activities in the areas of infrastructure, academics, research, Livestock informatics, technology enabled distance learning, ICT applications in livestock sector, livestock policy research, commodity based self help groups, extension and entrepreneurial activities. Dr.Ashok is the only member in the cadre of Vice Chancellor in the VCI.
