Nirtha Natya Sandhya- A dance programme by Kerala Kalamandalam held at Veterinary University Campus, Pookode

                            Nritha natya sandhya, a dance programme by Kerala Kalamandalam, was organized by the Directorate of Entrepreneurship of Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University on Thursday at Pookode, Wayanad. The event started with an invocatory item in Mohiniyattam known as Cholkettu followed by various items in Bharathanatyam and Kuchupudi. Tharangam, an item in Kuchuppudi which brought out the rhythmic virtuosity of the dancer, was replete with intricate footsteps. The dance programme concluded with a Thillana. The second part of the programme was a Kathakali recital depicting selected excerpts from the play “Duryodhanavadham”. The artists included Kalamandalam Thulasikrishnan, Kalamandalam Hari N Nair, Kalamandalam Ravi kumar, Sooraj, Sooryanarayanan and others. Dr. B Ashok,IAS, Vice Chancellor addressed the gathering and distributed mementos to the artistes.
