08 Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University signed an MOU with Kerala Agricultural University in the areas of academics and research in Climate change adaptation on 6th August 2011. Memorandum of understanding between two universities has been signed by Dr.K.R.Viswambaran, Vice Chancellor, Kerala Agricultural University and Dr.B.Ashok, Vice Chancellor, Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University. This MOU will pave the way for collaborative research in Climate change adaptation between two Universities. Speaking on the occasion Dr.K.R.Viswambaran, Vice Chancellor, KAU opined that two universities will work as a consortium to meet the emerging challenges of climate adaptation in Agriculture including Animal agriculture Dr.B.Ashok IAS, Vice Chancellor, KVASU while welcoming the research partnership suggested that Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University will seriously pursue with research collaborations in thrust areas, taking in to account the farmer in front approach. Vice Chancellor, KVASU launched the official website of academy of climate change education and research(ACCER) of KAU www.kauaccer.in
Dr.GSLHV Prasad Rao, Associate Director and Special officer, ACCER while delivering the key note address emphasized the need for climate change research in Agriculture including animal agriculture and the emerging career prospects in the areas of climate change adaptation. Dr.C.B.Manomohan, Registrar, KVASU, Dr.T.R.Gopalakrishnan, Director of Research, KAU, Dr.P.Balachandran, Director of Extension, KAU and Dr.A.Jalaludeen, Director of Academics and Research, KVASU offered felicitations. Dr.P.B.Pushpalatha, Registrar, KAU welcomed the gathering and Dr.P.K.Ashokan, Director, Academics, KAU offered vote of thanks.
