COHEART launched State level programme on Food Safety

COHEART  organized an awareness programme for school students on “Safe food for safe future” and a quiz to identify “One Health Angels” at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Kalpetta on 5th April 2014. The programme was inaugurated by Director of Entrepreneurship Dr. S. Ramkumar. Principal Kendriya Vidyalaya, Ms. Sujaya  expressed the interest in providing all facilities for conducting such programmes and congratulated the University in formation of new centre which will be beneficial not only to animals but also to man and his environment. Dr. Prejit, Officer-In-Charge welcomed the gathering and Ms. Susheela, Faculty of Kendriya Vidyalaya and Co-ordinator of the programe delivered vote of thanks. University officials Dr. Sunil G, Dr. Vinod VK, Dr. Asha K, Dr. Neenumol Jose and Dr. Sahana were the facilitators and resource persons in conducting this program. Interactive sessions on “Safe food and personal hygiene” and a quiz was conducted, based on which top 10 students were chosen for “One Health Angels” award. These Angels will further propagate the theory of One Health among colleagues, friends and parents on World Health Day- 7th April. COHEART proposes to organize this in various schools of Kerala and select the One Health Angels. The final Quiz programme for the selected students is planned during June 2014.
