Dr.G.Krishnan Nair, Professor and Head, Department of Veterinary Microbiology, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences of Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University(1972 BVSc batch) retired from service on 13th August 2011due to superannuation. Within a span of 33 years; Dr. Krishnan Nair had published more than 50 research articles. Dr. Krishnan Nair started his career as Junior instructor at Department of Pathology, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy and later joined as Assistant Professor at Department of Veterinary Microbiology during October1981and has been working as Professor since 27th July1998. He was instrumental in isolating and characterizing Duck Plague virus first in the state. Moreover Dr.Krishnan Nair had associated with All India network project on developing different types of vaccines for Duck Pasteurella. He has guided three PhD and 15 MVSc students and has been in the advisory committee of 70 post graduate students. Dr.Krishnan Nair received K.S.Nair Memorial gold medal for best article in IVJ-1988.
Vice Chancellor and senior Officials of Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University wish Dr G.Krishnan Nair a very happy retired life in close association with the research activities of the University.
