20 An awareness programme on ‘Know zoonoses to no zoonoses’ jointly organized by NSS Unit, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy and School of Zoonoses, Public Health and Pathobiology in association with Animal Husbandry Department, Department of Health, Education Department, National Health Mission and Suchitva Mission was held at GHSS, Pattikkad on 19th September, 2014. The programme was inaugurated by Shri. Roy K Devassy, Panchayat President, Panancherry and was presided by Shri P.V. Vasudevan, PTA President, GHSS, Pattikkad. Smt. E. Narayani, Head mistress, GHSS, Pattikkad welcomed the gathering. Dr. C. B. Manomohan, Professor and NSS Co-ordinator, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy explained the plan of action and addressed the gathering. Smt. Usha, Health Department, Smt. M. Samitha, Principal, GHSS, Pattikkad, Dr C Latha, Professor and NSS Programme Co-Ordinator, CVAS, Mannuthy and Sri Viswambharan, PTA Vice President, GHSS, Pattikkad delivered felicitations. Akarsh P, NSS Leader, CVAS, Mannuthy expressed vote of thanks.
The programme included an awareness class on zoonoses by Dr C Sethulekshmi, Assistant Professor, Dept of VPH, CVAS, Mannuthy for school children. An exhibition was arranged by the NSS unit of CVAS, Mannuthy with the focal theme on zoonoses. Competitions included drawing, painting and quiz competitions for school children. Task force consisting of 10 students were selected for pursue further in this regard.
