INDUCTION PROGRAMME FOR FRESHERS (2014 BATCH) AND AWARD DISTRIBUTION CEREMONY TO BEST OUTGOING STUDENTS HELD @CDST, MANNUTHY

                      The College of Dairy Science & Technology Parent Teacher Association (CDSTPTA) organized an Induction Programme for the newly admitted B.Tech students (2014 Admission) on 23rd September, 2014 at the Golden Jubilee Hall, Veterinary College campus, Mannuthy. The Award distribution ceremony to the best outgoing students of B.Tech course was also arranged with the induction programme. The programme started at 9:30 a.m. with a presentation on ‘Academic Matters of B.Tech programme’ by Dr. A.K. Beena, Associate Professor and Head – Dept. of Dairy Microbiology, which was followed by a presentation on ‘Campus life and Placements’ by Sri. G.R. Jayadevan, Academic Consultant – Dept. of Dairy Business Management. The public function followed the briefing sessions. Dr. Ligimol James, Academic Consultant – Dept. of Dairy Microbiology and Secretary – CDSTPTA welcomed the gathering. Sri. Sasikumar Palliyil, President – CDSTPTA presided over the function who, in presidential address stressed the pivotal role played by PTA in various developmental and students’ welfare activities taken up by the Dairy Science college. Patron’s address was delivered by Dean i/c, Dr. P.I. Geevarghese. The chief guest of the ceremony was Sri. C.N. Jayadevan, Member of Parliament – Thrissur. He distributed the PTA Awards for best outgoing students of 2009 Batch students of B.Tech (DSc. & Tech.) programme. He could highlight in his speech, the growing importance of professional students to be socially committed. CDSTPTA Executive Members: Sri. Babu P.R. and Sri. Satheesan P.K. and Dr. P. Sudheer Babu, Professor and Head – Dept. of Dairy Engineering offered felicitations in the function. Mrs. Premalatha, Vice-President – CDSTPTA offered vote of thanks to all those who attended the function and made it a grand success. The above function was followed with an ‘Orientation talk’ on the topic “Script your Success’ handled by Sri. Benny Kurien, a renowned Corporate Trainer and Consultant from Synergy HR Solutions based in Kochi. The programme came to a close by 1.00 pm. The Annual General Body Meeting of CDSTPTA then followed which came to an end by 2:30 p.m. with the election of new office bearers for 2014-15.
